Not So Crazy Talk

A Surviving Facts Blog

We are living an upside down, inside out reality. Ten years ago, QANON was in full force, pushing out conspiracy theories like a Texas trad wife bearing offspring. Remember Pizzagate claiming Hillary Clinton was running a child pornography ring out of the basement of a Maryland pizza restaurant with no basement? Or how about the belief that Trump, a known sex-offender grabbing women by the kitty: He was going to save our children from a global, Democratic child sex abuse ring. Turns out QANON was right.

Sorta.

The broad claim of rampant child sex abuse seems to be accurate. The details are wrong.

First, QANON got the party wrong. While both republicans and democrats can be pedophiles, most of the people represented in the Epstein files have been right-wing supporters. Not all of them. Bill Clinton flew Epstein Air to Epstein Island, though as of yet, he hasn’t been accused of participating in the debauchery. In fact, Democrats are sparse in the files. The molestation numbers are firmly weighted on conservative Republicans. Interestingly, the Republican Party seems to be highly populated with sex offenders. If you don’t believe me, look at this list of white, born-again Christian pastors and other religious representatives who’ve been arrested for child sexual abuse. This isn’t the only list of its kind. Catalogs of Catholic priests, Lutheran priests, Southern Baptist ministers and other “men of God” can be found. Google it, if you have the stomach for it. Looking through the results is a huge WTH moment.

Second, the MAGAs got the savior wrong. Thinking Donald Trump will save our children is similar to saying barnyard crap is perfume. Donnie boy, as we all know, is a headliner in the Epstein saga. He’s captured in photos, grasping young women around the waist and smiling lecherously at the camera. He’s mentioned in emails as a frequent shopper, and his own correspondences thank his friend Jeffrey for the fun experienced on his Island playground.

But Trump’s proclivity for underaged children doesn’t exist only in the famous files. Since the 1980s, underage girls and boys have accused Trump of sexual assault. These accusations have been documented legally, and have been resolved with hush money payoffs. Let’s not forget too that Trump is a felon convicted of rape and sexual assault. These convictions came out of a trial with a jury. In other words, these claims have had enough substance to convince a jury and judge of Trump’s guilt. How, I wonder, is a man with such a disgusting history going to save children from pedophilia as the MAGA-lumphs have believed? I once had a true believer beg me to stop criticizing Trump because he “will save the children.” My response: yes, being a pedophile himself, he’ll draw other molesters to him, the magnet of creep. The believer didn’t reach out again.

I wasn’t wrong. Trump pardoned a J-sixer who is already back in jail serving a life-time sentence for multiple child sexual assault convictions across multiple states. At least this “patriot” is now locked away for good. Clearly, Trump is not working to save the children as much as enabling the offenders to harm again.

Almost a year ago, the white house.gov site published a list of immigrants who had committed child sex abuse. These people are disgusting, but so are the hundreds of people on the much longer lists of Republicans and Christian Nationalists convicted of child sex abuse. Trump never refers to these people, however. His cronies and sycophants are unbesmirched by their own dirty dealings. Trump has a remarkable talent for hypocrisy.

Now that the creeps are turning out to be Republicans rather than Democrats, the dipsy doodle world is the new reality. Suddenly, raping underage girls is ok. Girls married at 12 and 13 in the Middle Ages. Why not now, even Megyn Kelley wants to know? Nick Fuentes recently claimed that women want to be raped. He would know since the self- proclaimed virgin has had so much firsthand knowledge of women.

I seem to have fallen asleep for decades and missed a bizarre shift in American politics. How did we move from “save the children” to “rape the children”? From protecting the innocence of children to sexualizing them? Republicans in several states have blocked raising the age of consent to 18 from 16, proclaiming marriage can provide stability for young women. Some Republican men have worried that raising the age of marriage will make more young women turn to abortions. Ironically, these same legislatures have fought against the ability of a sixteen-year-old minor to seek medical care. Apparently, girls age 16-18 can get pregnant and have babies but are not mature enough to seek medical care on their own. In perfect Republican fashion, the goal is to control women’s bodies while not providing the support to ensure women and children are healthy.

Why are so many white Christian Republican men perverts? This is a real question, The charismatic Christian faith of many offenders sets up a perfect, “God forgives me” scenario. It goes like this: Jesus died for my sins. I have accepted Jesus as my personal lord and savior. He has washed me clean from sin. I am one of the chosen. Now all I have to do is say, “ oopsie, Jesus, I goofed again,” and my sins are forgiven. I plug my coin into repentance and slot machine Jesus says “ding, ding, ding, jackpot! You are forgiven. You are a chosen one. Go forth and mess up again.” Charismatic Christianity is ideal for narcissists and sociopaths who never feel real guilt but are happy to produce performative guilt when caught. In the gotcha moments, they weep and beg for forgiveness… and Jesus forgives just like that. Apparently an unbaptized baby belongs in hell but a repeat pedophile can enter the kingdom because his sins have been washed away by the blood and tears of Jesus.

Hold my soapbox while I barf.

How convenient for men to conceive of male creation (God created man and Eve from Adam’s rib— can you say BS?) to control the origin narrative. When this didn’t go far enough to account for their egregious behaviors, they needed another maternal male figure— the forgiving Jesus— to permit themselves to do whatever they wanted and remain in their self-created kingdom of God. How convenient.

White Republican evangelicals— both the men who guard the house of their own making and the women who’ve bought the lie— can commit any atrocity and horror. God forgives them. And so do other evangelicals. This is why Trump can enter heaven more easily than a camel passing through an eye of a needle. He is godly because he says he is. Because they say he is. It’s the perfect reproducing and self-affirming sin factory.

What can the rest of us do to prick this perversity balloon? Let’s take a lesson from Gen Z. Quit the system.

Young women are kiboshing the Republican evangelical goals. Fewer Gen Z women are dating. They cite higher standards, economic independence, mental health, career, personal safety and political differences as reasons. Younger women want men who are truly partners, sharing domestic labor, emotional investment and career commitment. This is illustrated by the fact that more women than men are going to college, a trend that impacts intellectual compatibility, financial security and career ambitions. Gen Z women seem to understand that the self-directed lack of male ambition coupled with self-aggrandizing belief systems will result in unequal relationships between men and women. Women work harder and do more while men fail to step up to an equitable labor distribution. Rather than working in a career and then managing their job as wife and mothers, young women are saying, “no thanks.” They choose to remain single and celibate. They are Pro-cel rather than Incel.

Likewise, young women are rejecting the religious political beliefs that have kept women and children as sexual objects. A political divide between young women and men is growing. Nick Fuentes, Andrew Tate and other men may be preaching tradition and misogyny, but women are walking away and disengaging. Refusing to engage with men is the greatest empowerment tool young women have today. Sexism isn’t only a big turn off. Sexism harms women’s safety, finances, and physical and mental health. The best strategy? Exit, stage right. Create your own playbook rather than follow the perverted one given to you.

Of course, we know some men’s response to this trend: the manosphere seeks greater control of women and their bodies. Let’s force women to marry and have babies, the men’s movement says. Let’s prevent women from having lucrative careers and financial freedom by removing the professional credentials from “pink” jobs such as nursing. Let’s take away women’s right to vote. As scary as this is, I don’t think this will happen. The air is wheezing from the patriarchy perversion balloon.

Even so, we desperately need to foment a woman’s movement. We need to push the old, white fuddy-duddy pedos, evangelical or not, to the curb. For it’s these men who have brought us to today’s perversity, an American society with shrinking human rights, over-control of women’s bodies and sickening child abuse— as if these are the traditional values from the good ole days we need to bring back.

Conveniently, Trump has used the ”excursion” with Iran to distract from Epstein and the cadre of right wing, white male child molesters. It won’t work. This ridiculous war will weaken more of America’s young men. They will come home in body bags or broken with injuries and PTSD, another generation of damaged, ambitionless young men whose education, capabilities and career aspirations fall far below women’s. Men’s solution is to jump into the shark tank they made. They are their own chum.

I’m not quite sure how I transitioned from QANON conspiracies and conspiracies-come-true to this feminist manifesto. But it feels right. Patriarchy has pushed too far and has become perversion. Evangelical Christianity wants to normalize perversion. We can’t let it. We need the balancing force of a woman’s world. Men, it’s time to step aside. Every atrocity and war have come from you. We need to save our children and ourselves before it’s too late.
